Cross-Continental Compassion: Les Enfants du K2 & Pierre Neyret
The French connection behind the Baltoro Social Welfare Foundation.
The Man Behind the Vision: Pierre Neyret
Pierre Neyret, a renowned French high-mountain guide and philanthropist, combined his love for the Karakoram peaks with a deep commitment to its people. Recognizing the barriers to education in Northern Pakistan, Pierre co-founded Les Enfants du K2 to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.
Under his leadership, the association has consistently provided the financial and moral support necessary to maintain the BSW hostel, ensuring that students from the highest reaches of Baltistan have a safe place to live and learn in Skardu.
A Legacy of Presence: Annual Visits
What sets Les Enfants du K2 apart is their personal connection with our students. Pierre and his team don’t just send support from afar; they walk the halls of our hostel. Their regular visits have become a source of immense motivation for our young learners.
From providing warm clothes during harsh winters to renovating the hostel kitchen and building new study halls, the association ensures that every donation translates into a better quality of life for our students. Their dedication has enabled hundreds of children to complete their schooling and pursue higher education, much like the success story of Ali Naqi.
The Ripple Effect of Support
Thanks to Les Enfants du K2, the BSW Foundation has:
- Supported 150+ students from Braldo Valley since 2011.
- Constructed new residential wings and modern study halls.
- Facilitated vocational training and university placements.
- Fostered a unique cultural exchange between France and Baltistan.

The impact of this partnership is best seen through the eyes of those living it. We invite you to watch the documentary recorded by the association, capturing the essence of life at the hostel and the dreams of our students.
